Crochet Hexagon Blanket for Baby Boy!

I want to start by saying I am a HUGE fan of Sandra over at Cherry Heart.  I follow her on Instagram and a few weeks ago she started posting pictures of cute little hexagons that she called her Weekender Blanket.

I'm not embarrassed to say that I started stalking her blog daily waiting for the pattern that she promised was coming soon.

I had bought some Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino yarn a few months ago in hopes of crocheting a cute baby blanket for a friend who was pregnant with a little boy. I had a hard time finding a pattern that I liked, so when I saw these hexagons I knew exactly what I would use that yarn for.

I listed all my yarn colors on my Revelry Post.

This pattern was very easy to follow and actually fun to work on. I was on a time crunch and just barely made it.

And now for some pictures!

I'm shipping this little blanket out to its new owner today and I hope they love it as much as I do!

It's Finished!

I finally finished my Bright Neat Ripple blanket, just in time for my mom's Birthday.

It took me much longer than I had anticipated. I worked on it all the way up until the day of my mom's party, but watching her open this gift was definitely worth the work.

You can find all the details about this blanket (yarn/pattern used) here

The border alone took me about 20 hours. I had a hard time finding a border I loved so I improvised.

I won't be making another ripple blanket for awhile. I've made two very large ones in the last year. They are beautiful but very time consuming!
